Chris LaCivita, a senior adviser to the Trump 2024 campaign, slammed new attacks from the left against vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance for his disdain for “childless, catty women” in the Democratic Party, calling the criticism “completely ridiculous.”
During an appearance on Fox News’ “The Brian Kilmeade Show,” LaCivita said the uproar over comments Vance made in an interview three years ago has been exaggerated, and clarified to the radio host that the Trump/Vance campaign is not against “childless women” as the liberal media has said.
“The fact is, this has clearly been taken out of context,” the Trump adviser said on a radio show broadcast Friday.

In a 2021 interview, Vance initially said, “This country is effectively being run, through the Democrats and the corporate oligarchy, by childless catwomen who are miserable about their lives and the choices they’ve made, and they want the rest of the country to be miserable, too.”
He later in the interview specifically named Vice President Harris and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) as part of the group.
This week, various prominent liberals, including the Harris campaign, Hillary Clinton and actress Jennifer Aniston, slammed Vance, accusing him of degrading women who don’t have children or who wouldn’t be able to have children under normal circumstances.
LaCivita hit back at the new attacks against Vance, arguing his comments have been exaggerated and misconstrued.
The senior adviser also redirected media attacks on Vance back at them: “In fact, in today’s debate, the Democrats’ attack was that J.D. Vance believes that only people with children should get certain tax benefits.”

“It’s called the Child Care Tax Credit,” he continued, “so now the Democrats and the Kamala Harris campaign are on record as being opposed to something that, you know, has been the law for years, called the Child Care Tax Credit.”
LaCivita also criticised the strategy used by Democrats to take down the Republican vice presidential nominee, saying: “We knew this was coming – they’d bring in former actresses like Jennifer Aniston to launch these attacks.”
“We’re fighting for the working women of America, the forgotten middle class, and J.D. Vance is the perfect representative. They know it. They’re scared as hell… They’re going to be peddling fiction and we’re going to have to deal with that going forward.”
Kilmeade went on to ask if the Trump campaign was “against women who don’t have children,” to which LaCivita replied, “No, that’s ridiculous. That’s totally ridiculous.”
