President Trump Speaks at March for Life Rally

During the prominent March for Life rally in Washington, DC, President Donald Trump shared a video message, declaring that “every child is a gift from God.” His message aligned with the pro-life movement and preceded a speech by Vice President J.D. Vance.

Trump began his video by expressing gratitude to attendees, stating, “For 53 years, students, families, patriots, and believers have come to Washington from every corner of the country to defend the infinite value and God-given dignity of every human life.” He thanked those braving the winter chill to stand for their beliefs.

“Six years ago, I was proud to be the first president in history to attend this march in person,” he added. “Since then, we have made unprecedented progress to protect innocent lives and support family systems like never before.”

In his remarks, he emphasized the significance of his Supreme Court appointments, such as Justices Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, and Neil Gorsuch, noting that their judicial philosophies align with restrictions on abortion.

These justices played a crucial role in a landmark ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade, returning legislative authority on abortion to the states, a move Trump hailed as “the greatest victory” for the pro-life cause.

“In my first term, I had the honor of appointing judges and justices who believed in interpreting the Constitution as written. That was a big deal,” he asserted.

Additionally, Trump highlighted his administration’s commitment to protect “religious freedom,” mentioning various policy measures.

“We ended mandatory taxpayer funding of abortions at home and abroad. We defend faith-based adoption and foster care, and we support parents by investing $1,000 for each baby born into an account that grows over time,” he stated.

Trump also referred to a significant executive order he signed last year, emphasizing a two-pronged approach to his social policy: one aspect prohibits federal funding for elective abortions, and another is a program aimed at bolstering foster care providers, particularly those from faith communities. Alongside this, the Trump Account initiative offers a $1,000 investment for young children born during his administration.

“With your help and support, we will continue to fight for the eternal truth that every child is a gift from God. Thank you, and God bless America,” he concluded.

The video was part of a broader White House statement commemorating National Sanctity of Human Life Day, where Trump referred to the ruling in Roe v. Wade as “a moral and constitutional atrocity” that curtailed states’ rights to protect unborn children.

“Today, I call on Americans to respect the dignity of every human life, including the unborn, to continue caring for women with unplanned pregnancies, and to support adoption and foster care in meaningful ways,” his statement read. “I ask all citizens to reflect on the silence from the generations we have lost and to advocate for those affected by abortion.”
