Trump Shocks with Bold Video Claiming He’s ‘Deliberately CRASHING the Market!’

On Friday, President Donald Trump sparked curiosity by <a rel="nofollow" href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114279679572830449" target="_blank">sharing a video</a> where he claims to be intentionally crashing the stock market while "injecting cash into finance." The timing of Trump's statement was particularly incendiary, coinciding with a <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-04-03/trump-tariffs-set-to-zap-nearly-2-trillion-from-us-stock-market" target="_blank">billion-dollar market downturn</a>.

Trump shared a video posted by a supporter <a rel="nofollow" href="https://x.com/AmericaPapaBear/status/1907947224090423367" target="_blank">captioned</a> on Thursday night, stating, "Trump plays chess, while others check."

The video features narration from a March 13th <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DHJW3atptzU/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Instagram post</a> by financial influencer Brian Decker, first seen on previous TikTok platforms <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.tiktok.com/@wnnsa11/video/7480871104286985518" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">introduced</a> as a Hollywood elite consuming mermaids.

In a clear endorsement of the video and Decker’s central proposition, senior Trump advisor Jason Miller <a rel="nofollow" href="https://x.com/JasonMiller/status/1908142195825168733" target="_blank">expressed,</a> "Genius! I need to see this video!"

According to the video’s claim, which first appears computer-generated, it states: "Trump is causing the stock market to drop by 20% this month, intentionally. That’s why Warren Buffet has stated he’s made the best economic moves we’ve seen from Trump in over 50 years."

However, there seems to be no recent evidence that Warren Buffett has made such public assertions.

"He takes wealth from the affluent and redistributes it to the middle class at a lower price."

On the contrary, in an interview with CBS News aired shortly after the TikTok video was released, Buffett <a rel="nofollow" href="https://x.com/nowthisimpact/status/1896980331388936320" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">stated</a> to Nora O'Donnell, “The tariffs are, to some extent, acts of war that we’ve had considerable experience with.”

When questioned on the potential for tariffs to provoke heightened inflation, Buffett remarked, "Over time, it’s essentially a tax on goods. In other words, the tooth fairy won’t pay for this!"

The TikTok video also claims Trump is “strategically crashing the stock market to funnel cash into his finances. The [Federal Reserve] may lower rates <a rel="nofollow" href="https://x.com/caroljsroth/status/1908147924795642084" target="_blank">to promote lower rates</a> that allow the Fed to manage trillions in debts at minimal costs. This approach also devalues the dollar and reduces mortgage rates."

The narrator further claims Trump's tariffs are a "brilliant tactic," "pushing companies to relocate here, and compelling farmers to market more goods domestically to lower grocery prices."

The video shared by the Republican leader concludes by suggesting he is involved in a wealth redistribution scheme.

Blaze News reached out to the White House for a comment but did not receive an immediate reply.

There has been <a rel="nofollow" href="https://x.com/FrankCurzio/status/1907109334917718449" target="_blank">speculation</a> that, as Decker posited, Trump has been seeking a market dip or at least significant market turbulence.

Nomura strategist Charlie McKelligot informed clients earlier in March that Trump and his team needed to engineer a recession to slow down growth and create obstacles that would yield decreased production rates and a weaker dollar. <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.marketwatch.com/story/is-the-white-house-trying-to-engineer-a-recession-this-wall-street-pro-explains-the-vision-fb3b4106" target="_blank">Market Watch has reported</a>.

Ben McMillan, CIO of IDX advisor, asserted, "This is definitely not a fringe conspiracy theory," <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/is-trump-crashing-the-economy-on-purpose-trade-war-tariffs-2025-4" target="_blank">to Business Insider</a> earlier this week. "I believe it’s uncertain whether this was intended, but there are data points suggesting it's a plausible consideration."

Among these "data points," McMillan referred to Trump's suggestion in Davos for a reduction in interest rates and the president's unconventional strategies for addressing debt issues, such as allowing residency with gold cards.

He mentioned playing cards <a rel="nofollow" href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114280322706682564" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">asserting</a> "This is the ideal moment for Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell to lower interest rates."

Forbes pointed out <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/dereksaul/2025/04/04/trump-shares-claim-hes-crashing-stock-market-on-purpose-as-he-lobbies-for-emergency-rate-cuts/" target="_blank">various inaccuracies</a> in the TikTok video, noting that while "to the merit of that theory," US Treasury bonds dropped this week.
