Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter, despite repeatedly promising not to do so. Meanwhile, some of the January 6th protesters still sit in prison, although their charges do not match Hunter's.
Karine Jean-Pierre has repeatedly told reporters that such a thing would never happen, and even acted exasperated when questioned.
“It's still a no, it's always going to be a no. It's a no and I have nothing else to add,” she said at one of her many press conferences, and at another press conference: said. Our answer is no. ”
Eric Eggers, deputy director of the Government Accountability Institute, believes this “decades' worth of reprieve for Hunter” has created “respite and space” for Joe Biden himself.
“These are business deals that Joe Biden simply wouldn't have been adjacent to,” he told Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson on “Blaze News Tonight.” “Joe Biden was considered an employee of some of Hunter Biden's businesses when he was not Vice President. So by pardoning Hunter, Joe Biden is essentially making himself I think I have forgiven you.”
“It's not a surprise because we all knew this was going to happen. If it's a surprise, you need to check yourself,” Peterson comments. “But at the same time, it's interesting to actually see it happen because there are political implications.”
“And I would like to see some form of actual justice served,” he added.
Savage agreed, noting that most of the conservative reaction on social media platforms like X was focused on January 6th.
“If Donald Trump is going to do that, he should immediately seek pardon for the J6ers,” Savage said.
“Yeah, I mean, I don't think they're comparable. One is a gross injustice and the other is the government acting in a way that's not consistent with the Constitution. If that helps, it's That's great. If it helps people make a point, let's do that,” Peterson added.
