Ronald S. Lauder Praises Trump as “President of Peace”
On Saturday, Ronald S. Lauder, the President of the World Jewish Parliament, referred to President Donald Trump as the “President of Peace.” He expressed optimism that ongoing efforts could lead to the disarmament of Hamas, the return of all hostages, and an end to the conflict in Gaza, suggesting that such achievements would merit a Nobel Peace Prize.
In a post on X, Lauder mentioned that if reports were confirmed and all factions engaged in talks, Hamas would be in a position to release hostages nearly two years after their capture, which could trigger a series of events that would eventually disarm Hamas and facilitate their exit from Gaza.
Lauder pledged to advocate for these goals with members of the Nobel Committee.
He emphasized that achieving these results would represent a significant milestone and reinforce Trump’s legacy as the “President of Peace.”
According to Breitbart News, these comments came as Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu neared the completion of a framework involving the release of hostages and the departure of Hamas from Gaza.
Lauder, who has led the World Jewish Congress since 2007, has often lauded Trump’s stance on Middle Eastern diplomacy and combatting anti-Semitism. Earlier this year, he supported Trump’s initiative to withdraw federal funding from universities that allowed anti-Semitic behavior on campuses and welcomed a resolution from the Arab League that called for Hamas’ disarmament, which he termed as “historic moral clarity.”
Support for Trump’s peacebuilding initiatives has been gaining traction, with at least seven countries publicly backing his nomination for the Nobel Prize. Netanyahu disclosed that he also nominated Trump, although he noted that the process remains confidential, intensifying the global push to recognize what many view as one of the most impactful peace efforts in recent history.
Lauder asserted that if the current diplomatic initiatives were successful in leading to Hamas’ disarmament and the return of hostages, Trump would achieve extraordinary milestones that would be historically significant, and he would personally lobby the Nobel Committee to ensure recognition of these efforts.
