New Executive Order on Women’s Health Care Signed by President Trump

On October 19, 2026, First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald Trump came together at the White House to sign an executive order aimed at enhancing standards and funding for women’s health care and research.

During the signing ceremony in the Rose Garden, Mrs. Trump described the occasion as “a transformative moment for women in America.”

“Beginning today, we will change the reality of Women’s health. Previous generations fought for women’s rights,” she stated. “Our generation will fight to discover the cures that will ensure a woman can live her life in health and to the fullest.”

She outlined her initiative, titled the “First Lady’s Five Pillars of Women’s Health Innovation,” which focuses on:

  • Channeling research funding to identify cures for diseases specific to women;
  • Utilizing super intelligence (SI) to deepen our understanding of female biology and expedite medical breakthroughs;
  • Streamlining the process of introducing promising therapies to women while adhering to safety standards;
  • Guaranteeing that medical advancements are affordable and accessible to women, regardless of their financial situation;
  • Encouraging open discussion, education, and compassion to replace years of silence.

“Our mission must serve women in every stage of life,” she remarked before allowing President Trump to speak.

President Trump stated that the executive order would create a new women’s health care division within the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which he felt should have been established long ago.

“There’s so many things that would seem so basic. Think of it: A women’s health division, and it hasn’t been done. But it’s been done under Trump,” he said.

He shared his surprise when the First Lady suggested the idea, questioning, “Are you sure they don’t have that? Who the hell wouldn’t have a women’s health division?”

The executive order also sets up a White House Task Force to bring together various federal entities to enhance women’s health, with Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at the helm.

“These are mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, and under the Trump administration, we’re going to get them the care and support that they need and deserve,” Trump proclaimed.

“This historic initiative will promote new research and really go after the understudied diseases affecting women and promote innovative technologies to diagnose conditions sooner and improve treatment using the best available science,” he later added.

Trump noted that White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, who recently completed her battle with early-stage breast cancer, was particularly enthusiastic about the new order, emphasizing its timing during breast cancer awareness month.

The executive order identifies the significant gaps in women’s health care, emphasizing that many conditions uniquely affecting women have not received adequate research and clinical attention.

“Despite considerable advances in biomedical science, many diseases and conditions that disproportionately or uniquely affect women have not received the level of research, clinical attention, and treatment that other diseases have received,” the order stated. “More research is needed in critical aspects of women’s health, including cardiovascular and heart disease, cancer, stroke, Alzheimer’s Disease, autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, osteoporosis, mental health, chronic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, polyendocrine metabolic ovary syndrome, infertility, maternal health, menopause, neurological disorders, aging, and more.”
