Former President Donald Trump on Friday called Colorado Gov. Jared Polis a “chicken” for not doing more to fight a ruthless Venezuelan prison gang that has infiltrated the city of Aurora.
“They're just like me,” President Trump said of the Torren de Aragua gang at a campaign rally in Reno, Nevada, saying they're in the real estate business. They're doing it with weapons we've never seen before.”
The Torren de Aragua gang has taken over multiple apartments in Aurora, Colorado, since expanding its grip in the United States under the Harris-Biden administration amid a historic surge in illegal immigration.
At least 10 members of a violent prison gang have been arrested in Aurora.
“They've taken over a complex and they've got a petrified radical leftist governor,” Trump said, referring to Democrat Polis.
“He wants nothing to do with it,” the former president continued. “He's scared. He's a chicken—t.”
Local officials in a Denver suburb recently filed a lawsuit against the sanctuary city of Denver, the state of Colorado, and the governor over policies that allow unrestricted immigration and prevent local governments from helping federal authorities fight immigrant crime. At least six Colorado counties have already filed lawsuits against Polis and the state over rising immigration crimes.
“They're breaking down doors. They're collecting rent,” President Trump said of prison gang activity in Aurora.
“They're shooting people. They're breaking jaws, crushing skulls,” he added.
“If I were president right now, those people would be out of here before you leave this room,” Trump vowed.

President Trump made a campaign stop in Aurora on Friday before a rally in Nevada, vowing to “invoke the Alien Hostiles Act of 1798” against Torren de Aragua.
The Foreign Enemies Act of 1798 authorizes the president to require the nationals of an enemy nation to be “arrested, detained, secured, or removed” during wartime if they are deemed a threat to the United States.
The Republican candidate also said he would impose 10 years in prison for immigrants who reenter the United States after being deported, and the death penalty for illegal immigrants who kill Americans.
