Trump States Marjorie Taylor Greene Does Not Represent America First or MAGA

President Donald Trump reacted to an interview with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Monday. She stated that “It’s not America First or MAGA.”

In November, Greene had announced her intention to resign from Congress in January, expressing that “things don’t get any better” for average Americans.

Her decision came during a growing divide between her and Trump. Shortly before her resignation, he declared that he was revoking his “endorsement” of her. He later congratulated her on her decision, calling it “great news” for the nation.

Since that point, Greene has remained vocal, making headlines in various television appearances. Although 60 Minutes brands itself as “America First,” Trump has distanced himself from that sentiment.

“The only reason Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown (which sounds a bit funny when you think about it) is criticized is because she was spurned by the President. This, of course, isn’t the first time that’s happened. She has too much on her plate, and her ideas are quite poor now,” Trump remarked, comparing Greene’s statements to “rotten apples.”

“Marjorie doesn’t represent America First. No one can shift their beliefs that swiftly, and frankly, her new opinions seem rather foolish,” he continued.

Trump further expressed his discontent with the 60 Minutes segment, specifically targeting correspondent Leslie Stahl. He mentioned an earlier allegation she made regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop, calling her claims definitively incorrect. “My main issue with the show, though, isn’t just a mistaken individual; it’s that the new ownership of 60 Minutes would allow such content to be aired,” he added.

In the interview, Greene mentioned that Trump’s criticisms had led to her receiving death threats, something she believed other Republicans were hesitant to discuss for fear of backlash.

“I think they’re worried about stepping out of line and facing negative publicity,” Greene said, pointing out that her son’s mention of “Marjorie Traitor Greene” had sparked direct threats against him.

“Those threats were directly incited by President Trump,” she stated.

Greene also took aim at Trump for failing to prioritize America in his agenda. “For someone who claims to be an ‘America First’ president, the main focus should have been on domestic issues, which hasn’t been the case. I had to be critical of that because it was what I promised during my campaign,” she explained, adding, “Once we get our own house in order, then we can think about the rest of the world.”
