Former President Donald Trump has put his reputation in jeopardy after telling ABC News and George Stephanopoulos multiple times on air that Trump was responsible for raping author E. Jean Carroll. He filed a formal lawsuit for defamation, claiming that he had been harmed by the media.

The lawsuit was filed by President Trump in Miami federal court on Monday over Mr. Stephanopoulos’ newsworthy interview with Rep. Nancy Mace (RS.C.) on “This Week” on March 10. be.th.
The lawsuit is a direct aim of Stephanopoulos, who described multiple times during his cross-examination how Trump was found to be “responsible for rape.” The jury found that Trump was liable under New York state law for sexual abuse, but not for rape.
“A judge and two juries found him guilty of rape and defamation of the rape victim. How do you reconcile his support for Donald Trump with the testimony we just saw? ” Stephanopoulos asked during the interview.
“Given that these statements were and are false, and that Defendant Stephanopoulos knows that these statements are demonstrably false, he did not act with actual malice or with reckless disregard for the truth. Stephanopoulos,” Trump’s lawyer Alejandro Brito wrote in the paper on Tuesday. -Page complaints.
“In fact, the jury explicitly found that the plaintiff did not commit rape, and as shown below, defendant George Stephanopoulos was aware of the jury’s finding in this regard and yet falsely claimed otherwise. “I made a statement,” Brito continued.
Meanwhile, Trump has filed a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages.
