Trump suggests AOC might run for president

President Trump has indicated that he expects Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, often referred to as AOC, may aim for the presidency. However, he seems to group her alongside other left-leaning politicians who are now moving away from more radical viewpoints that are troubling them politically.

During a recent interview on Long Island, when asked about Ocasio-Cortez, he responded, “I think so.” This came after she shared a video revealing her decision to freeze her eggs, igniting speculation regarding her aspirations for higher office.

He touched on Ocasio-Cortez’s Sunday remark that “Wake 1.0 was crazy,” which seemed to be an attempt to distance herself from controversial statements that have created issues for other progressive Democratic candidates, including Francesca Hong from Wisconsin.

Trump stated, “But if you look closely, they’re all saying the same thing. They’re all trying to deny what they said about crime and that we love sanctuary cities. They’re all trying to deny everything they said right now,” speaking to FOX correspondent Alexis McAdams.

He also had some pointed criticism for Abdul El-Sayed, a candidate for the Michigan Senate, who compared football to “toxic masculinity,” colonialism, and slavery, which Trump found quite odd.

Trump sarcastically remarked about Michigan, saying, “Michigan would be a great place to be, but it’s a very bad place to be. They have a great soccer team, a lot of great soccer teams that people love. I say that’s a big mistake.”

Interestingly, El-Sayed, who attended the University of Michigan, holds the NCAA record for the most wins in college football history and had previously declared that “toxic masculinity is at the center of America’s most popular sport.” However, he also captained his high school football team and played club lacrosse in college.

Throughout his 2024 re-election campaign, President Trump has focused on immigration issues and expressed his belief that Ocasio-Cortez will have to continue endorsing “sanctuary cities,” saying, “I think we’re going to see the end of Sanctuary City, because Sanctuary City is a disaster, and people like her were a huge part of Sanctuary City.”
