Trump Taps Alina Habba as Interim U.S. Attorney for District of New Jersey

President Donald Trump has lifted his counselor to President Alina Haba to serve as interim US lawyer for the New Jersey area.

Trump has worked on the True Society to announce the move, John Giordano, who serves as the district's interim US lawyer, has been appointed as the US ambassador for Namibia.

Alina Habba, Esq, currently serving as a presidential counselor and has long represented me. We are extremely pleased to be an interim US lawyer for her hometown of New Jersey!

Alina leads with the same diligence and beliefs that defined her career, and fights tirelessly to ensure a legal system that is “fair and just” for the wonderful people of New Jersey.

What's more, John Giordano, who did an incredible job as an interim US lawyer for New Jersey, has now been appointed as the new ambassador for Namibia!

Haba was brought against him by New York Attorney General Leticia James (D) on behalf of Trump in a New York civil lawsuit. The case is on appeal after ordering Judge Arthur Ngoron to pay a $464 million fine in February 2024.

After Trump won the election, he tapped Haba as the president's counselor, where she served for the first two months of administration.

Haba thanked Trump on Monday, vowing to “fight for truth and justice” in his new position as interim US lawyer for the New Jersey area.

“I am honored to serve my hometown state as an interim US lawyer in New Jersey, and I am grateful to President Trump for putting this incredible responsibility on me,” she wrote in a post on X.

“I will continue to fight for truth and justice, as I did during my time as a personal lawyer for President Trump. We will end the weaponization of justice at once,” she added.
