Allies of former President Donald Trump are fighting back against “Hollywood elites” and “fake news” attacks on Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) over his “childless cat-loving women” comments three years ago.

He added that these people “are miserable about their lives and the choices they’ve made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too,” which is part of a larger argument about “why have we turned the country over to people who don’t actually have a direct stake in it?”
Anti-Trump commentator Ron Filipovsky shared part of the video on his X account, while Semaphore’s Dave Wegel I got it.failed to address a key caveat that Vance cited when he made similar allegations about the Interuniversity Research Institute that same year. Trump campaign spokeswoman Carolyn Leavitt shared a video of Vance from that event on Thursday.

He said:
Look, there are a lot of people who can’t have children for very complex and important reasons. Some of my best friends have had a hard time finding the right woman or the right man. Of course, there are people who can’t have children for biological or medical reasons. They’re not the target of this statement. It’s important to point that out. There have always been people who want to have children but can’t. Let’s set them aside.
After Filipovski’s video went viral, actress Jennifer Aniston responded, twisting Vance’s Fox News comments to suggest he was criticizing women struggling with fertility treatments.
“Vance, I hope your daughter is lucky enough to have children of her own one day,” Aniston says. I have written In an Instagram Story on Wednesday, she said: “I hope she doesn’t have to turn to IVF as a second option because now you’re trying to take that away from her as well.”
“As a new mother, my heart aches for the women who cannot have children,” Levitt said on Thursday, adding that Vance’s words “have been taken out of context and unfairly attacked.”

“Once again, the left-wing media has misinterpreted Senator Vance’s words to create a false narrative about where he stands on issues,” Taylor Van Kirk, a spokesman for Senator Vance, said in a statement to Breitbart News.
“The Democratic Party is in total disarray by installing the most unpopular vice president in history as their party’s nominee,” she added. “The only childless issues we should be talking about are the parents who have lost their children to violent thugs and deadly fentanyl coming across the border south of Kamala.”
Donald Trump Jr. and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk also slammed the media on Thursday for reporting the comments made three years ago.
“The Fake News was caught red-handed lying about @JDVance,” Trump Jr. wrote.

“Just imagine!! The media and Hollywood elites knowingly lying about comments made by JD Vance in 2021 in which he expressed particular sympathy for women who cannot have children,” Kirk wrote.
“JD is a kind, thoughtful and honest person, unlike those who are maliciously lying about him,” he added.
