President-elect Donald Trump told tens of thousands of supporters at a rally in Washington, D.C., on the eve of his inauguration Sunday, that he would dedicate his first trip as president Friday to the California wildfires.
Mr. Trump said:
Tonight, I want to send my love to everyone affected by the wildfires raging in California. we are praying for you all. we love you all. We'll be arriving soon. I'm going to go in on Friday and see how it goes and put it back together. We hire some of the best builders in the world to put it back together. I also want to pay tribute to the great people of North Carolina. You know, I won every time, and [they] I have been treated badly. FEMA barely knew it existed. And we're going to really promote North Carolina, okay? They have been badly treated as a nation. Together, we will rebuild Los Angeles more beautiful than ever. We will proceed with it. We have the best builders in the world. The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics will be one of the great sporting events and patriotic celebrations in history. Because of the wildfires, they will be doing a special job. They're going to do something special at the Olympics.
Breitbart News has led the world in wildfire coverage with correspondents physically living in the affected communities for both the Palisades Fire in Pacific Palisades and the Eaton Fire in Pasadena. . Networks such as ABC, CBS, and Sky News have used Breitbart News' reports and reports for their own reporting on the fires.
Trump also visited California after past disasters. He has criticized the country's approach to forest management.
