Trump touts relationship with Kim Jong Un, Putin

Former President Trump on Sunday touted his relationships with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

President Trump appeared on Fox News' “Sunday Morning Futures” on Sunday to discuss America's threats internationally, but sought to dispel concerns about the nation's enemies.

“I happen to be very good friends with Kim Jong Un,” Trump said.

The former president said his relationship with Kim started “really rocky” when the two threatened nuclear violence over a “red button on my desk.”

“He kept calling me and saying, 'There's a red button on my desk.' So I said, 'I have a red button too, but it's bigger and my The red button works,''' Trump said. “And it was really bad and a lot of people were actually worried.”

President Trump reportedly spoke with former President Barack Obama when he took office and told him that the biggest threat was North Korea. He claimed that Obama and Kim were “on the verge of war.”

“There would have been a nuclear war and millions of people would have died,” Trump said. “And when I was there, I got on very well with Kim Jong-un.”

The former president reiterated that he was “on very good terms with President Putin.”

Journalist Bob Woodward's new book highlights the friendship between the two, revealing that Trump sent coronavirus testing equipment to Putin at the height of the pandemic. President Trump has consistently touted his relationship with President Putin, saying that if he became president he would “solve” the Russia-Ukraine war in one day.
