Trump: U.S.-Iran peace agreement is finalized before Friday event, details coming soon

Trump Declares Iran Peace Deal at G7 Summit

During the G7 summit held in France, President Donald Trump announced that a peace agreement with Iran has been finalized.

Reports indicate that both the US and Iran have digitally signed the deal, with a formal signing ceremony planned for Switzerland on Friday. This agreement is said to be a memorandum of understanding that will lead to the resolution of specific issues over the next 60 days.

Speaking to reporters alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, Trump mentioned he might or might not participate in the signing, but confirmed that Vice President J.D. Vance would attend.

Last Sunday, Trump revealed that a peace agreement had been established with Iran, stating that the Strait of Hormuz would be opened “free of charge” following the formal signing.

When asked about the deal by French journalists, he indicated that the announcement would be made immediately after the ceremony on Friday.

“All the agreements are signed, and the strait is already partially open. You know, they’re looking a little bit for some of the mines that they’ve already found,” Trump remarked. “Ships are now starting to leave and we expect to be fully open on Friday.”

Trump also acknowledged that some shipping lanes have already been opened. Before meeting with Macron, he noted that ships have begun transiting the crucial waterway.

“Many ships are starting to set sail from the Strait of Hormuz with oil on board. They are sailing along the southern ‘highway’, which is completely safe, secure and pristine. There are other routes!!!,” the president shared on Truth Social on Monday.
