Donald Trump vowed to win the 2024 presidential election as jurors in New York v. Trump began deliberations on Wednesday on charges that the 45th president “couldn’t beat Mother Teresa.”
“You know, the judge is extremely conflicted and corrupt. Extremely corrupt because he’s conflicted. Not even Mother Teresa could overturn these charges. These charges are fraudulent. They’re all fraudulent,” Trump said late Wednesday morning, as the jury began its verdict.
“The whole country is in turmoil over the border and the fake elections, and we have a trial going on where the judges are so conflicted they can’t breathe. They have to do their job. … This is a disgrace. I mean, not even Mother Teresa could overturn these charges. But we’ll see what happens. We’ll see what happens.”
Jurors began deliberations just before noon Wednesday after a long day in court Tuesday that included lengthy closing arguments from the defense and the district attorney’s office.

Trump is facing 34 cases of falsifying business recordsProsecutors sought to prove that Trump paid former porn actress Stormy Daniels $130,000 before the 2016 election and then falsified business records to conceal the payment to silence her allegations that she had an affair with Trump in 2006.
In his comments on Wednesday, Trump continued to say he will win the 2024 election despite the trial.

“We will win this election. November 5th will be the most important day in our country’s history. We will take our country back from the fascists and thugs who are ruining us through inflation and other means. How stupid they are. They are allowing 15, 16, 17 million people into our country. No vetting, no testing at all. We will take our country back on November 5th. Remember this is the most important day in our country’s history. Meanwhile, this trial is being rigged,” he said.
Trump predicts closing arguments in ‘sham trial’: ‘A very dangerous day for America’
Trump’s lawyers told jurors on Tuesday that Trump is innocent and has not committed any crime, adding that Bragg “has not met his burden of proof. Period.”

“President Trump is innocent. He committed no crime. The district attorney has not met his burden of proof. Period,” Blanche said.
Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass delivered closing arguments that lasted more than five hours on Tuesday, ending at 8 p.m., telling jurors his office had presented a “strong” case against Trump.

“The game was about cover-up, and all roads inescapably lead to the person who benefited most from it – the defendant, former President Donald Trump,” Steinglass said.

In the midst of the prosecution’s lengthy closing arguments, Trump posted a Truth Social article summing up the courtroom proceedings in one word: “Boring!”
