Trump Warns of D.C. Takeover Following Attack on DOGE Member 'Big Balls'

Attack on “Big Ball” Prompts Trump to Address DC Crime

A well-known member of the duds community, who goes by the name “Big Ball,” was attacked in Washington, DC, leading President Donald Trump to suggest a federal takeover of the capital.

Edward Colistine, a 19-year-old software engineer and known online personality, reported that he was assaulted by a group of ten young individuals outside his vehicle.

Trump shared a photo of Colistine after the incident and expressed his concern about crime in the capital. In a post, he stated:

Crime in Washington, DC, is completely out of hand. Local youth and gang members, some as young as 14, are randomly attacking and robbing innocent people, often getting back on the streets almost immediately. They feel no fear of law enforcement because they know there are no real consequences. This situation must change! DC laws should treat these minors as adults, imposing serious penalties. Just recently, Colistine was brutally attacked by local thugs. We need a safe, clean, and beautiful Washington, as every American—and indeed the world—expects. If the city doesn’t take action soon, we might have no choice but to federalize it and enforce order ourselves. No one should have to live in fear. If this continues, we will act decisively to take control. Make America great again!

There has been an uptick in crime among young people in the city, particularly concerning robbery and carjacking incidents. In response, Mayor Muriel Bowser initiated a special police force to address juvenile crime issues.

Colistine, recognized as a significant figure in the Doge community, was pivotal in dismantling the USAID and is now employed with the Social Security Agency.

Trump has hinted at a federal takeover of the city since his second inauguration. Since the Home Rule Act of 1973, Washington, DC has experienced a limited level of self-governance.

According to reports, police apprehended two 15-year-olds—a boy and a girl—from Maryland at the scene. The incident occurred early Sunday morning in a luxury neighborhood not far from the White House. Both teenagers face charges of unarmed carjacking, with authorities searching for further suspects.

Mayor Bowser has claimed that crime rates in the city have declined. Being a minor, the suspects’ case will be managed by city Attorney General Brian Schwarb.
