Trump Warns of ‘Great Depression of 2024’ After ‘Kamala Crash’

Former President Donald Trump on Monday slammed Vice President Kamala Harris for the sudden drop in US stock indexes, declaring that markets “won’t accept” her and calling her a “far-left lunatic.”

In a series of posts on Truth Social, Trump slammed Harris for the “Kamala Clash.”

“Of course the market is down big time. Kamala is even worse than Bad Joe. The markets will never accept a far left nutjob who has destroyed San Francisco and all of California,” Trump wrote.

“Next move is Great Depression in 2024! You can’t play games in the markets. It’s going to be a Kamala Crash!” he added.

In a separate post, the Republican presidential candidate said the election hinged on voters’ choice: “Trump Prosperity or Kamala’s Destruction and Great Depression in 2024.”

He further claimed that “if these very stupid people remain in power, there is a possibility of World War III.”

“Remember, Trump was right about everything!” he added.

Major stock indexes including the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite fell sharply on Monday morning, Breitbart News Economics Editor John Carney reported.

The drop underscores the extent of investor concern after economic data released last week showed a sharper-than-expected rise in unemployment and slower job growth. Surveys of manufacturing also showed a sharp decline in activity in the sector, which is often a bellwether for the economy.

The Labor Department said the economy added just 114,000 workers in July, well below the 180,000 expected. Surveys of executives known as purchasing managers by the Institute for Supply Management and S&P Global both showed factory activity contracted in the month.

WATCH — Axelrod: “There’s a lot of irrational enthusiasm for Kamala Harris.”

As Carney noted, the presidential election may also be affecting the market: While markets have risen when Trump was clearly ahead in the polls, the latest drop coincides with Harris’ rise in the polls as she replaces President Joe Biden as the presumptive nominee.

Harris and her campaign had remained silent about Monday’s market decline as of press time, but Trump’s running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), condemned it.

“This moment has the potential to create real economic disaster around the world. We need the kind of steady leadership that President Trump has shown for the past four years,” he wrote in a post on X.

“Kamala Harris is too afraid to answer media questions to lead us through these difficult times,” he added, using the hashtag “#WheresKamala.”
