Trump Will Take This Country in the Right Direction for My Family, My Children

Jason Aldean, the country music superstar and singer of the number one hit “Try That in a Small Town,” has spoken of his love for former President Donald Trump, calling him a “cool guy” and the leader the country needs and saying he'll be happy to vote for Trump in November.

Aldean spoke about Trump during his appearance. The Tucker Carlson Show.

“I love Trump, so I got invited to his New Year's party at Mar-a-Lago. To be honest, when Trump ran for president in 2016, I had no interest in politics,” Aldean said. “I wasn't really interested. I didn't really understand. I didn't really pay attention. But I thought it was cool that there was this guy who wasn't a politician.”

“At the time, all the A-listers were saying, 'Oh, Trump is running for president.' Everybody was excited, it was like a joke. And then Trump won. I don't think anybody expected him to win. And the next eight years have been all about smearing this guy and trying to get rid of him, and you can see how he's dealing with the media,” he continued.

Aldean said he visited Mar-a-Lago, had breakfast with the former president and played golf with him. He later described the former president as a “cool guy who was fun to be around.”

Aldean said he had no intention of politicizing the matter and that his support for Trump “just happened.”

Country hitmaker Aldean made headlines around the world last summer when CMT pulled the music video for Aldean's smash hit single, “Try That in a Small Town,” an anthem that highlights the rise in left-wing violence and lawlessness in the U.S. In the video, Aldean performs in front of a courthouse while footage of flag burning, people shouting at protests, attacks on police and a convenience store robbery flashes on screen.

Later in the video, a Fox News caption reads, “State of Emergency Declared in Georgia.” Aldean's video juxtaposes violent images with more harmonious scenes of a small town, including a girl playing hopscotch and an American flag being raised. Critics of the song have taken issue with several lyrics in which Aldean directly criticizes criminals and rioters.

Neil Thrasher — Wrote “Try that in a Small Town” with some Nashville songwriters. Kelly Loveless, Tully Kennedyand Kurt Allison — performed a gorgeous acoustic rendition of the song on the Breitbart/SiriusXM American Songwriter special.

Last week, Jason Aldean urged a crowd of young voters at a recent concert to “go out and vote” if they don't like the state of the country right now.

“It's a crazy time for the media to treat me like an idiot for calling out people who do stupid things. This country is crazy,” he said. “It's gotten really crazy over the last few years, but I'll say this: November is an important month for our country. It's an important month.”

“I'm not in a position to stand here and tell you who you should vote for or who you shouldn't vote for. That's not my job. It's not my place to say that. But we have a lot of young people here who are actually old enough to vote now,” he continued.

After saying that he had no interest in voting when he was younger, preferring to hang out with friends, he told attendees that they had no right to complain about the election results if they didn't vote.

“This is a big issue. It's a really big issue and you see a lot of people complaining about the state of the country. They don't like it. That's how it is. If you don't vote, you have no right to complain about the results of the election. If you want to change something, just go outside. It only takes 30 minutes a day,” he said.
