Trump wins Arizona to sweep swing states and secure 312 total electoral votes

President-elect Trump has officially won Arizona, avenging his loss in the 2020 election in the key battleground state.

The race in Arizona was called by the Associated Press on Saturday evening. Mr. Trump won 11 more electors, including Arizona, for a total of 312 electors. Her opponent, Vice President Harris, received only 226 electoral votes.

Trump's support in Arizona ends a battle in the battleground state in the 2024 presidential election. In addition to Arizona, he also won electors in North Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nevada, Georgia, and Pennsylvania.

In the 2020 election, President Biden won Arizona by less than half of 1%, and the results were close, with Biden defeating Trump by 2% in Maricopa County, a key area.

Until Biden won Arizona in 2020, Republicans had won the state every year since 1996.

Immigration was perhaps the most important issue in Arizona, which borders Mexico.

Mary, a Phoenix resident, told Fox News Digital last month that “we have to move faster to detain people at the border.” “And if you suspect they are about to commit a crime, lock them up.”

Others in Arizona echoed Harris' message from multiple trips to the state that President Trump is a threat to “democracy.”

“Kamala, Kamala, Kamala!” a Tempe man named Bob told Fox News Digital. “The rich are riding a wave of tax cuts without accountability, and the Supreme Court has taken away the government's right to regulate things. So we need to take it back, and Mr. Kamala is going to do it instead. What we're going to do is put more Federalist judges there. ”

Arizona has a higher percentage of Hispanic voters than the rest of the country, and while the state favored Biden by 19 points in the last election, it was showing signs of leaning toward Trump before the election.

The Grand Canyon State is also voting on a new senator after independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema decided not to run for re-election this year. The Republican candidate is Kari Lake, a former television news host who ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2022. Democrats have endorsed Rep. Ruben Gallego, a former Marine who represents Arizona's 3rd Congressional District.
