Trump’s Energy Strategy Focused on Maximizing Resources
During a recent appearance, Interior Secretary Doug Burgham discussed President Donald Trump’s emphasis on the “drill baby drill” approach, which includes unlocking all types of energy resources. He made these comments while speaking on Breitbart News Daily.
The host, Mike Slater, asked Burgham about the potential for oil production and job creation, as well as the economic impact of these efforts. Burgham responded, highlighting Trump’s promotion of diverse energy sources. He mentioned that energy is essential for many aspects of life, including food and clothing, emphasizing the need for accessible and affordable energy.
Burgham noted that this energy strategy helps address inflation, stating that Trump managed to reduce inflation from a 40-year high to about 2% in six months, primarily by promoting American energy resources including those in Alaska.
He pointed out that Trump’s vision included the construction of oil infrastructure, referring to the Alaska oil pipeline built decades ago, which now operates alongside a natural gas pipeline capable of exporting liquefied natural gas to various countries in Asia.
According to Burgham, the shipping time for this natural gas from Alaska to Tokyo is significantly shorter compared to routes from the Middle East, which need to navigate through strategically sensitive waters.
He concluded by praising Trump’s understanding of how energy resources tie into pricing and overall affordability, stating that the U.S. has significant energy available, especially due to innovations from the Shale Revolution.
