Trump’s eighth week in office set to continue break-neck level of actions, rallying GOP to avoid shutdown

President Donald Trump is expected to spend a busy week in his oval office, including linking Republican Congressional support to pass an ongoing resolution ahead of the government's closing deadline on Friday.

Capitol Hill lawmakers are in the midst of funding the federal government until September 30th or bashing a suspension spending bill that faces closures over the weekend.

“I will work with great House Republicans on an ongoing resolution to fund the government until September to give them the time they need to tackle our agenda,” Trump said in a post on True Society on Wednesday.

“Conservatives will love this bill because this year we will set it to cut tax and settlement spending while it is effectively frozen,” Trump added.

House Republican leadership aides said in a media call on Saturday that the bill was “closely coordinated” with the White House, but noted that Trump has not considered this particular bill.
