Former White House Physician The letter was released on Friday He said former President Trump was “recovering rapidly” after the shooting at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, and that there was “no evidence” that he was “shot with anything other than a bullet.”

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), who objected to testimony from FBI Director Christopher Wray earlier this week, said he wanted to “assure the American people and the world that President Trump is doing a very good job.”

“Since the assassination attempt on the evening of July 13th in Butler, Pennsylvania, I have continued to monitor President Trump’s health and well-being, along with his physicians,” Jackson, Trump’s former physician, said in a statement.

“The would-be assassin used a high-powered rifle to fire multiple shots at relatively close range, one of which struck former president and current Republican presidential candidate Mr. Trump in his right ear,” Jackson continued.

“Two days ago at a congressional hearing, FBI Director Christopher Wray suggested it could have been a bullet, shrapnel or glass. There is absolutely no evidence that it was anything other than a bullet,” he added. “Congress should correct the record, as the hospital and I have confirmed. It is erroneous and inappropriate for Director Wray to suggest otherwise.”

“As a former White House physician for 14 years, serving under three presidential administrations and serving as designated physician to Presidents Obama and Trump, I fully understand the global significance of this attempt on the life of a former president and current Republican presidential candidate,” Jackson added.

“As such, I want to reassure the American people and the world that President Trump is doing extremely well,” Jackson concluded. “President Trump is recovering rapidly from the gunshot wound to his right ear. I will continue to support President Trump and his physicians in any way they deem appropriate and will provide updates as necessary and with President Trump’s permission.”

In an interview on Fox Business’ “Kudlow” show Thursday, Jackson said it was “completely absurd” for Wray to suggest that Trump might not have been hit by a bullet.

“This undermines the credibility of this man, after all these years of using the FBI and the Department of Justice as weapons against the president,” Jackson said. “It was definitely a bullet. I looked at it. There was a bullet hole.”

Jackson also praised the creation of a bipartisan House task force to investigate the assassination attempt on President Trump.

“We currently have zero confidence in the nation’s primary law enforcement agency. And if [Wray’s] “If you’re going to make a statement like that, you’d better have proof of what you’re saying,” Jackson said. “There was no broken glass on the teleprompter or anything like that.”
