Trump’s leadership brought significant advancements in childcare.

Childcare availability is a significant issue that affects women, families, and the workforce. When I discovered I was expecting my second child about 12 years ago, my first call was to my daycare center to ensure they could accommodate my newborn.

This situation is not just mine. Nearly 15 million children under five in the U.S. may require care while their parents work. However, as prices continue to soar, many families will find it increasingly difficult to secure affordable and reliable childcare as they try to earn a living.

During President Trump’s administration, Republicans took action, recognizing the need to make parenting more accessible. The proposed legislation, referred to as “One big beautiful invoice“, includes vital measures aimed at helping parents find optimal childcare solutions. It plans to enhance child and dependency care tax credits along with employer childcare tax credits, and expand dependency care support plans.

The bill aims to modernize childcare and addiction care tax credits for the first time since 2001. In that period, childcare expenses have surged by over 250%, while the credits have remained stagnant and thus less effective for today’s families. By permanently renewing these tax credits, we allow parents to keep more of their hard-earned income to cover daycare, babysitters, and after-school programs.

Moreover, our legislation will broaden the childcare tax credits, which have not been updated in years, in order to assist businesses of all sizes in supporting employee childcare needs. Employers will be able to provide on-site care or collaborate with local childcare providers to ensure their teams have dependable options during work hours.

Additionally, the bill proposes to increase the cap on employer-sponsored dependency care support plans, enabling parents to receive up to $7,500 pre-tax for childcare expenses. This will be combined permanently with a child tax credit of $2,200 per child and introduce new Trump Savings Accounts. These resources aim to help families achieve financial stability from the outset and support a permanent paid leave tax credit.

We’re offering more than just improved access to childcare, unlike our Democrat colleagues when they had total control in Washington. We’re presenting a genuine solution. The need for childcare options has become critical, especially with costs for two children surpassing rent in all 50 states, and President Trump’s leadership has made this initiative possible.

These policies might not always grab headlines, but they will positively impact families across the country, granting them the chance to work, raise children, and pursue their aspirations.

Resilient families contribute to robust economies and a stronger nation. Republicans under President Trump stand firm as advocates for family values.
