Trump's memorable escalator moment signifies ten years since he began his first presidential campaign.

On June 16, 2015, Donald J. Trump officially announced his first run for the presidency, initiating the “Make America Great Again” campaign. Standing alongside his wife, Melania, he stepped onto the Golden Escalator in Trump Tower, New York City, and declared his intentions to seek the presidency.

In a post on The-Twitter, he shared a family photo with the message, “I’m officially running for President of the United States,” along with the hashtag #makeamericagreatagain. To commemorate this occasion, Team Trump celebrated a decade since that pivotal moment with an Instagram post reflecting on his announcement.

Since then, Trump has significantly shaped American politics, not only by establishing the MAGA movement but also by serving as the 45th and, interestingly, the 47th president after winning against Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Kamala Harris in 2020. He holds the distinction of being the only U.S. president to serve two non-consecutive terms, a feat previously achieved by Grover Cleveland.

Looking back, this decade has been marked by considerable political transformation, with Trump often at the center of the narrative. “This will really be America’s golden age,” he remarked after securing a landslide victory in the 2024 election, hinting at his vision for the future.
