Former Congressman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) and Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes Breitbart News Saturday Former President Donald Trump on how his social media platform aims to keep channels of global communication open.
Nunes explained that Truth Social was founded “to make sure that the lines of communication are open not just to every American, but to every person around the world.”

“We had to create Truth Social to keep the lines of communication open, not just with the American people but with people all over the world. And we’ve done that well. And, you know, I think President Trump is very proud. All of us are very proud. The left often says, ‘Oh, you guys are businessmen. Learn to code and do it yourself.’ And we did it. Without Amazon, without Microsoft, without Crowdstrike. We did it all on our own and we were successful. It’s working. We’re growing every day and we’re getting ready to launch our streaming service,” Nunes said.
Boyle noted that Trump had broken several “major news stories” on Truth Social, including announcing that he would choose Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) as his running mate, adding that it was a “big deal.”
“Of course. As you can imagine, traffic has skyrocketed since the assassination attempt. Traffic was on the rise anyway because of the tournament. But the fact that he’s using it for a variety of things means that we’ve been able to do it with very little trouble. So we’re really continuing to pick up speed and the quality of the platform is improving.”
Nunes added that people sometimes ask, “So what’s the difference between the platforms?”
“It’s very simple. We’ve tried to take the best of every platform, because we all know Trump tweets mean things. But I tell people, Truth Social is not a replacement for Twitter. Truth Social takes the best of Twitter, the best of Facebook, the best of Instagram, the best of Reddit, the best of every platform. And we try to make it simple and easy to use.”
“Most importantly, we don’t allow bots or fake accounts. We don’t have community notes, and we don’t censor people. All we ask is that you follow the laws that exist – that you don’t violate any federal or state laws, and that the content is family-friendly.”

“We invite Gavin Newsom, Biden and Harris onto the platform and we’re not going to kick them out. They post pretty regularly. So we’re really a free speech platform and we’re protecting people’s rights and access to the internet and allowing people to communicate with each other.”
