Tua Tagovailoa said he has increased security at his home and sent a message to potential trespassers after his recent car break-in.
The Dolphins quarterback said Wednesday when asked about a recent spate of robberies targeting NFL stars, including Chiefs teammates Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce and Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. He said he armed security guards at his Miami home.
“I have personal security just because my house…my car was broken into,” Tagovailoa, 26, said. “It's a little too close for me to feel safe because my family is home, so we've got personal security to take care of all that. I've had someone come over with my wife when I'm out, I also had someone inspect my house.
“So, I'm telling you, they're armed. So if you decide to go to my house, I want you to think twice,” Tagovailoa said with a smile.
Laughter could be heard from reporters who were not visible on camera.
Tagovailoa's warning came after Burrow's home was broken into during Monday Night Football, where the Bengals defeated the Cowboys 27-20 in Arlington this week.
