Former Democrat Tarshi Gabbard will face another test in the Senate Monday night as he hopes to be confirmed by one of the most important national security positions in the US government.
President Donald Trump's candidate will become Director of National Intelligence (DNI) at 5:30pm when he needs to win more than 50 votes to advance to the final confirmation vote. You will receive solidification votes.
If the coagulation movement passes, there will be 30 hours of debate on the Senate floor. Often, the debate between the coagulation movement and the final vote is minimized in what is called the “time contract” between Republicans and Democrats. However, due to the controversial nature of Gabbard's nomination and the ongoing dissatisfaction with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and government audits, such contracts are not expected.

This will set up Gabbard for the final confirmation vote on Wednesday when the 30-hour discussion expires.
The candidate advanced from the Senate Selection Committee's intelligence news committee last week, and key GOP Sens of Susan Collins, R-Maine and Todd Young's R-Ind.

Her success in coagulation movements and final confirmations is far more advantageous than her initial odds on the Intel Committee.
To gain the support of Republicans on all committees, Chairman Tom Cotton, R-Ark. , and Vice President JD Vance worked 24 hours a day. Their conversations and tireless efforts with committee members were believed to have passed an important hurdle.

In the final vote, Gabbard can only lose three Republican Republican votes, assuming she doesn't get democratic support, as in the case of committee votes.
She already has an advantage over Secretary of Defense Pete Hegses, as Collins supports her. The senator was one of three votes against Hegses.

Despite the limited number of votes Gabbard can afford to lose, Republicans appear to be confident in her odds. This was signalled through the White House, sending Vance to Europe for events and meetings between Gabbard's coagulation and confirmation slips. If Republicans had expected Vance to break the tie in the upper chamber, they wouldn't have planned to vote this week.
