Tulsi Gabbard Resigns as Director of National Intelligence
Tulsi Gabbard informed President Donald Trump at the end of last month about her decision to step down from her position as Director of National Intelligence.
During her last days in the role, Gabbard demonstrated that the Ukrainian hardliners, who had previously labeled her a “traitor,” completely misjudged her. She asserted that the claims regarding U.S. funding of “more than 120 biolabs in over 30 countries, including Ukraine,” were unfounded. Additionally, she posed significant challenges for former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director, Anthony Fauci.
“It’s time for the American people to learn the real story,” she stated.
On Thursday, Gabbard was declassified, revealing a wealth of previously unreleased communications and documents. She claimed these documents unveil how Dr. Fauci allocated millions of taxpayer dollars for risky gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab. The documents also suggested he worked with biased parties in the intelligence community to hide the truth of his actions, concealed the origins of the virus’s lab leak, and deceived Congress during his 2024 oath.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) highlighted not just the retaliation against whistleblowers who opposed Fauci’s conclusions about zoonotic origins but also mentioned that Fauci’s close ties with some elements of the intelligence community allowed him to perform three crucial roles during the pandemic. This arrangement seemingly shielded him from scrutiny, giving him extraordinary power.
- “Mr. Fauci has funded hazardous coronavirus research in conjunction with Big Pharma, pursuing a ‘universal vaccine’ with trillions of dollars.”
- “Mr. Fauci acted as a behind-the-scenes advisor who, alongside chosen experts, pushed the intelligence community to endorse natural animal origins to mask his dangerous research.”
- “Mr. Fauci has emerged as a ‘critic’ of the pandemic response, actively promoting misinformation and censorship.”
Federal documents have indicated that Fauci’s NIAID and the U.S. Agency for International Development contributed $41 million for coronavirus testing via EcoHealth Alliance subcontractors. Ben Hu, identified as a researcher on the grant, is known for leading gain-of-function research on coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Surprisingly, he was among three researchers who reportedly contracted the coronavirus first in November 2019.
Fauci’s agency publicly endorsed the theory that the virus originated through cross-species transmission, which led to a controversial paper suggesting otherwise. Interestingly, earlier, he appeared to advocate for discrediting the lab leak theory.
The statute of limitations appears to have lapsed last month on potential charges against Fauci for allegedly deceiving Congress about gain-of-function studies at the Wuhan lab. He has also been granted a pardon by former President Joe Biden.
No comments were available from Fauci, and the Department of Justice did not respond to inquiries by the deadline.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has brought immense suffering to millions both domestically and globally. After extensive years of deception, censorship, and cover-ups, the American public deserves clarity, truth, and accountability,” Gabbard remarked in her statement.
“The strategies employed to obscure the facts are right out of a deep state’s handbook. Leaders like Dr. Fauci, acting in a politicized manner, undermined a legitimately elected president. He covered up his own misdeeds, manipulated information, misled Congress, and restricted access to critical details essential for national safety,” Gabbard continued. “Americans deserve to know the actual story.”
Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, who has frequently called for criminal charges against Fauci, also welcomed the document release. He expressed gratitude for Gabbard’s commitment to uncovering truth, even when it posed political risks.
