Health Update from Tulsi Gabbard
On Thursday, Tulsi Gabbard shared a health update regarding her husband, Abraham Williams, who recently had a lengthy surgery for a rare form of bone cancer.
Gabbard explained on social media that Williams was diagnosed with sacral chordoma, which is a rare tumor located at the base of the spine. The surgery, aimed at removing the tumor along with surrounding tissue, took almost seven hours. While she mentioned that he had a challenging night and is experiencing considerable pain, she also noted that he has been discharged from the hospital and is now recovering at home.
This announcement comes shortly after Gabbard decided to resign from her role as Director of National Intelligence to prioritize her family. In mid-May, she met with President Donald Trump and submitted her resignation, which is set to take effect on June 30, 2026. Gabbard praised Williams as her “rock” during their 11 years of marriage, emphasizing her need to support him during his treatment.
Following her resignation announcement, Trump expressed his support for her decision, stating that she should be with her husband during this difficult time.
In her recent post, Gabbard conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out with prayers and kind messages, finding comfort in the support her family has received.
“My husband Abraham was diagnosed with a very rare sacral chordoma. The surgery to remove the bone and surrounding tissue lasted almost seven hours and was a success. He has had a rough night and is in severe pain but is finally at home resting. He has now begun his recovery. We are so grateful for the outpouring of prayers and kind messages from everyone. Our hearts are full,” she shared on social media.
