Turning Point tour continues strong message on its second stop after Charlie Kirk's passing

Turning Point USA Event Highlights Youngkin’s Message of Hope

At a recent Turning Point USA event, Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin delivered an inspiring message to students while remembering the late Charlie Kirk. He urged those present, saying, “You’re the next Charlie Kirk.” This marked one of the first gatherings since Kirk’s tragic assassination, and Youngkin emphasized the importance of carrying on Kirk’s legacy.

Speaking to a crowded auditorium at Virginia Tech, Youngkin shared that the responsibility now rests on the shoulders of the youth. “You carry the baton. You change your mind. You become that resurrection,” he declared, suggesting a sense of duty to continue the fight for truth.

Youngkin addressed the unsettling question of who would take Kirk’s place, noting, “Who will the next Charlie be?” He pointed out the energy of the audience and expressed hope in seeing their potential as future leaders.

Even in the wake of such violence that took Kirk’s life, Youngkin asserted that Kirk had left behind a “blueprint” for advancing truth amidst chaos. “Millions of Americans have been inspired by Charlie Kirk’s enduring commitment,” Youngkin stated.

Reflecting on Kirk’s unwavering Christian faith, Youngkin reminded attendees, “Each of you is a light shining in the corner of the room, a light shining brightly in evil.” He described Kirk’s death as an attempt to silence the truth—a truth that, he believes, will continue to thrive.

Youngkin also recognized Kirk’s wife, Erica, praising her for her strong presence since taking on a leadership role at Turning Point USA. He expressed admiration for those who knew Kirk well, emphasizing the deep connection that can drive future leadership.

Erica Kirk’s message of forgiveness towards her husband’s alleged killer has been noted as a profound testament to their Christian faith. This resonates particularly as communities grapple with the aftermath of violence.Notably, Virginia is currently seeing a contentious gubernatorial race between Republican Winsam Sears and Democrat Abigail Spanberger, which adds a layer of complexity to the political landscape.

Lastly, over 2,000 attendees gathered at the University of Minnesota for another Turning Point USA event, illustrating the movement’s significant following following Kirk’s assassination. These events signal a call to action for many, amidst a climate of uncertainty and challenge.
