Turning Point USA Expands After Charlie Kirk’s Assassination
Following the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University, Turning Point USA is witnessing a significant increase in student applications aimed at forming new chapters. Kirk’s widow, Erica, has vowed to expand the organization even further.
In light of the incident, Turning Point USA reported a rapid growth, with inquiries for 54,400 new chapters across high schools and universities nationwide.
“Currently, TPUSA has 900 official university branches and about 1,200 high school branches, amounting to 3,500 total presences,” an official stated.
“Charlie’s vision of establishing Club America Chapter, our high school initiative, in every high school in America—there are around 23,000—has accelerated far beyond what he had anticipated. It’s truly remarkable,” he added.
Corvette mentioned that he received hundreds of offers from individuals willing to volunteer or contribute their time to the organization.
Out of the inquiries, 27,800 came from university students, while 26,600 were from high school students.
“Many people are honoring a man who has profoundly influenced their lives and the world,” said Turning Point USA. “In many ways, this tragedy has spurred the spirit Charlie always envisioned in his fellow Americans. He had unwavering faith in his ability to champion the truth and goodness of our nation. His belief in a brighter American future stemmed from his belief in the American people.”
“This was the America Charlie dreamed of,” they continued. “Embedding Club America chapters in every high school and populating college campuses with TPUSA chapters was his goal. He firmly believed that young people had the zeal, energy, and clarity to transform America and the world. His mission was to empower them to do so. Now, his vision is becoming a reality.”
Kirk gained notoriety for his campus tours, which included events like “You Are Brainwashed” and “American Comeback.” These gatherings often took place outdoors, encouraging students to engage with conservative viewpoints.
He was dedicated to fostering discourse among citizens, promoting respectful discussion even amid stark disagreements. His remarkable discussion skills and gentle approach resonated with countless students nationwide.
“For all the young individuals inspired by my husband’s belief in hard work, you know exactly what Charlie would want for you,” Erica Kirk remarked.
“If you’re in high school or college, seek out your local Turning Point USA chapter. Get involved. I want him to make a difference.
“If there’s no chapter where you are, create one. There’s no room for excuses. Let’s take action,” Erica urged.
