Two teenage twin sisters were stabbed in New York City early Sunday morning. One of the sisters died from the stab wounds. Witnesses said the teens were stabbed after the sisters refused the man’s advances.
Samia Spain and her twin sister Sania were inside a warehouse in Brooklyn with a group of friends and relatives around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
The twins’ grandfather, Alphonso Goodson, said: new york post The stabbing suspect entered the warehouse and “began beating her,” police said.
the eyewitness said news 12 bronx“One of the guys was complimenting two girls who came in with their friends. They said no, they weren’t attracted to them.”
“She said, ‘I don’t want you to bother me. Please leave me alone,'” Goodson said. Then the shopkeeper kicked him out. He started kicking the door and banging on the door. ”
The twin sisters had just left the Slope Natural Plus store in Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood when they were both allegedly stabbed by a man who had rejected them from other teenagers.
Mr Goodson added: “He was waiting for them. He took a wrong turn. He followed them. It was wrong. It was completely wrong.”
Saniya was stabbed in the arm and Samia was stabbed in the chest and neck.
A witness said: “Everyone started taking care of her. One of her friends took off his shirt and started compressing her neck to try to slow the bleeding. She was gushing blood all over the street.” he said.
Samia was later pronounced dead at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Sanya was listed in stable condition.
The assailant fled the crime scene.
No arrests have been made, and police are investigating the incident as a stabbing.
“I hope they catch this guy,” Goodson said.
A memorial was placed outside Samia’s apartment building in Wyckoff Gardens.
Marquita McMillan, the twins’ aunt, said: gothamist“They were so beautiful and looked like they were having fun. Samia really worked on her shoulders. She wanted to make something out of herself, and so did Samia.”
McMillian is concerned about dangerous crime in the neighborhood.
“I’m scared to leave this building and walk downstairs because I don’t know what I’m facing,” McMillan said.
Mohemed Albejer, a worker at Slope Natural Plus, is calling on city authorities to “tougher the laws” to deal with violent crime in the area.
