Danny DeVito and his Twins co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger are in talks to make a new movie together.
DeVito, who is preparing for “Matilda in Concert,” told Fox News Digital of Schwarzenegger, “He’s like my buddy. We have a lot of fun together.” . “You know, we’re trying to make another movie together. We’re currently writing the script. We’d love to get back on the big screen together.”
DeVito, who recently reunited with Schwarzenegger for the 2024 Oscars ceremony, explained that he is in talks with Warner Bros. about the project, but that it will not be a sequel to Twins.
“Ivan, rest your soul. He is no longer with us. DeVito has been friends with Schwarzenegger since before “Twins” and laughed, saying, “We’d see each other once in a while. Not at the gym, because I don’t go there.” “But we’re looking forward to being on screen again. So, good luck. We’ll be working on some productions next year. We always have a lot of fun together.” .He is a kind person.”

Mr. DeVito, 79, said Mr. Schwarzenegger remains close to the former California governor and frequently visits Mr. Schwarzenegger’s home.

DeVito said that over the years, DeVito, a former bodybuilder, has helped remind him to “keep the weight down.”

DeVito also talked about preparing to star in “Matilda in Concert” with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra later this month.
”This is big,” DeVito said, adding that he was pitched the idea by composer David Newman, who scored the 1996 film “Matilda,” in which DeVito starred and directed.
“When you take the audio out of the movie, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra plays it. I’m in the movie as Mr. Wormwood, so I have a mustache. But I also narrate the movie. I’ll be on stage while he conducts.” I’m really looking forward to that night. ”
“Matilda” is a film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s novel about an intelligent girl whose parents are intellectually curious and who happens to have telekinetic powers.

DeVito also talked about playing opposite his wife Rhea Perlman in the film and about becoming a grandparent.

Before a recent performance of the Broadway show “I Need That,” in which they played father and daughter, he said he cried when his other daughter, Lucy, told him she was pregnant.

”One night she came to my dressing room. She said, ‘Pop, I’m pregnant.’ And I just burst into tears,” DeVito told FOX News Digital. I am a hoarder and she has a problem. ”We share a granddaughter, a new granddaughter, and we see each other all the time,” he said. “Yesterday was Lucy’s birthday. We were at her birthday party together and we just had a family party, and we’re a very close family.”
Perlman played DeVito’s wife in “Matilda.” Mara Wilson as Matilda. Pam Ferris, who played the sadistic school principal Miss Trunchbull, will also guest star in the production of “Matilda in Concert” at the New Jersey State Theater on March 22nd.
