Two Arkansas inmates, including 1 held on murder charge, vanish from jail

Arkansas State Police have launched an investigation after an inmate on suspicion of murder and another inmate who is a “murder suspect” disappeared from prison.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office announced Monday that Noah Rausch and Jatonia Bryant “may have escaped” from the Dove Brussell Adult Detention Center in Pine Bluff “within the past 48 hours.”

The sheriff's office announced that “two detainees were discovered missing” from a jail outside Little Rock around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

“Both individuals are considered dangerous and must be approached.” [by] “Every effort is being made to apprehend the suspect at this time,” authorities warned.

“JCSO is working with the Pine Bluff Police Department Vice Narcotics Unit, the Arkansas State Police, and the Arkansas Department of Corrections to locate these individuals,” the sheriff's office added.

Police said Rausch, 22, was in custody on suspicion of burglary and theft of property. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said he is “also a suspect in a murder case,” but did not elaborate and did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment on the case.

Meanwhile, Bryant, 23, was taken into custody “on probable cause for capital murder,” according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

The newspaper described Rausch as a white man, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with a scar on the right side of his head, while Bryant is described as a black man, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 145 pounds. lb.

“We did a head count this morning and they were missing, but we don't know at what point they weren't on the property,” Jefferson County Maj. John Bean told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette on Monday. It's really just speculation,” he told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. “We have two K-12 units working there,” he added, “and they're both young men from the area.”

According to the newspaper, Bryant turned himself in after a 49-year-old man was shot to death last July.
