Two brothers discovered shot dead in a Long Island residence

Tragic Double Shooting in Hempstead

In a heartbreaking incident, two middle-aged brothers were shot dead in their Long Island home on Wednesday, as reported by local authorities and news outlets.

Emergency services responded to a 911 call at a residence on Angevine Street in Hempstead shortly before 10:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they found two men with severe gunshot wounds, according to Nassau County Police.

The victims were later identified by their sisters as Dave Adamson, 52, and Gary Adamson, 49. However, police have yet to confirm their identities publicly.

The sisters, whose names have not been released, made the grim discovery when their mother called them to report trouble accessing her home office. They arrived to find a scene that no one could ever prepare for.

“My mom said she couldn’t get into the office, so I told her I’d come right over. That’s when we found out,” one sister shared.

She described her brothers as caring individuals who were helpful to their parents. “They’re my youngest siblings. It’s just hard to grasp what happened today,” she said with evident heartache.

The brothers lived at home and were a close-knit family with their parents, who operated a cleaning business. Family dynamics seemed harmonious, with no history of conflict. “We never fought. They were good people,” she added.

A family friend, Marjorie Lindsay, expressed disbelief over the circumstances. “He was a pacifist. It’s hard to think this would be his end,” she remarked.

Police are conducting a thorough investigation, currently sealing off the area around the home to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.

Nearby residents watched with concern as emergency responders converged on the scene. “I saw police arriving, and when I returned, I saw the tape. I knew something serious had happened,” a local resident recounted.

Another neighbor emphasized the loss, stating, “They didn’t get a chance to defend themselves. It’s tragic. They were good young men.”

The investigation remains open, and anyone with relevant information is encouraged to reach out to Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911, assuring anonymity for callers.
