Two individuals reportedly stole two French bulldogs from a residence in Queens during a series of robberies over the weekend, according to police.
The incident occurred around 10 PM on Saturday at the Long Island City Apartments located on Crane Street and Jackson Avenue, where the thieves made off with pups valued at $1,700 each.
The owner, who was away at the time, returned home to find the door shut. Reviewing the security footage revealed the puppy theft, sources indicated.
The residents were unfamiliar with the suspects, and it remains unclear how the intruders accessed the apartment.
Earlier that day, the same duo, seen in a white vehicle, reportedly attacked another man on Crane Street.
During that incident, one suspect displayed a gun while the other assaulted the victim, ultimately stealing an iPhone and house keys.
Following the attack, the assailants escaped in the same vehicle while the victim declined medical assistance.
Around 3:20 PM, one male, wearing a black mask, was seen pulling up by a 27-year-old in a white car, based on surveillance footage.
One suspect fired a weapon while the other dragged the victim into the vehicle, taking his iPhone and $800, police reported. The injured individual later sought treatment at Sinai Queens Mountain Hospital.
Authorities noted that the criminal activities spanned about six hours in Long Island City.
One suspect is described as a male with a light complexion, approximately 20 to 25 years old, around 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighing about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a Bulls hat and a black sweater.
The second suspect, who has a darker complexion, is thought to be of similar age, about six feet tall, and weighs around 220 pounds. He was last observed in a gray baseball cap and a gray sweater.
