Two men taken into custody by federal agents during confrontation at St Paul gas station

Dramatic footage captures federal Border Patrol agents apprehending two men at a gas station in St. Paul, Minnesota, amid ongoing protests that have frustrated local authorities. The video, shared on X on Sunday, quickly gained traction, showing Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino instructing a crowd to step back while agents attempted to take a man from a parked vehicle.

A group of federal agents surrounded the car, urging onlookers to keep their distance. “Guys, please back up,” Bovino can be heard saying. “We have your back for our safety and your safety… stay there.” Minutes later, despite the chaos caused by protesters and honking cars, agents subdued a man in a brown jacket, forcing him to the ground and handcuffing him.

Three investigators later carried him away, holding onto his arms and legs. Another moment of tension was recorded as agents continued to order bystanders to move back. When the man seemed to resist, several agents tackled him, escalating the situation further.

This encounter occurs against the backdrop of heightened tensions in the Twin Cities after the recent fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good by ICE agents during an immigration enforcement raid. Federal officials maintain that Good attempted to drive her vehicle toward them, a claim that family members and some community leaders have challenged.

The shooting has sparked protests, intensified scrutiny of federal enforcement activities in the area, and led to repeated confrontations between demonstrators and agents. Spokespeople from the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection have not yet responded to requests for comment.
