Teachers Accused of Misconduct in Arizona High School
Authorities have reported that two teachers from an Arizona high school, including Haley Beck, the sister of “Baywatch” star Noah Beck, are facing allegations of sexual misconduct involving the same teenage student.
Haley Beck, 27, was dismissed from her position following previous accusations of grooming and engaging in sexual relations with students. She reportedly paid students and expressed sentiments in messages indicating it felt like “heterosexual prostitution,” according to a report from KBTX.
The other accused teacher, Angela Burlaka, 47, resigned after nearly 25 years at the school after allegedly sending a nude video mentioning the same male student, as stated in a detailed police report.
Beck, who has gained popularity on TikTok, seemed to have known Burlaka. She reportedly told the boy he “didn’t want to be compared to Mr. B” due to their age difference.
Criminal charges could be forthcoming, as police reopened the case for prosecutors. The exact age of the student isn’t clear, but he appears to be in elementary school.
“This was not a relationship,” remarked Jessica Nicely, a child abuse prevention advocate. “He was a child. This was child abuse—this was child rape,” she emphasized regarding the allegations.
She added that the situation shouldn’t be trivialized just because the perpetrator was a woman and the victim a boy. “It’s not funny. It’s not an achievement. He’s the victim. It’s not their relationship; it’s rape,” she asserted.
Rumors about the inappropriate conduct had been circulating at Peoria’s Centennial High School for several months prior to the teachers being placed on administrative leave in August. According to the police report, Burlaka recorded a video explicitly mentioning unnamed students. One of these videos was discovered by the boy’s grandmother in July.
Following this, claims arose against Beck, who was employed since 2020, indicating she had a sexual relationship with a student.
Interestingly, the boy’s mother admitted to the police that she was aware her son was “having sex with a teacher named ‘Hailey Beck.'” This information was included in the police report.
An internal investigation revealed that Beck began grooming the boy in December 2024, when he was in elementary school, while she was teaching psychology. She allegedly did his homework, inflated his grades, and offered him special treatment in class. Reports indicate she gave the student over $600 in gifts, including buys of alcohol and drugs, and referred to herself as his “sugar mama.” In multiple text exchanges, she likened their relationship to “straight prostitution.”
Beck expressed discomfort at being compared to Burlaka, who also seemed to have acknowledged his involvement with the student. In one message, Beck mentioned that although their situation was inappropriate, at least they were closer in age.
During a police search, a handwritten note from Beck was found, stating that the relationship was “extremely wrong” but that they “made the best of it.” She added, “There’s really no other student I would want to do something like this with (I know is wrong).”
The victim and his family chose not to cooperate with the investigation, fearing it might jeopardize potential college athletic scholarships.
Both teachers were placed on administrative leave in August 2025. Burlaka has voluntarily surrendered his teaching license, while Beck did not. Recently, the Peoria Unified School District Board of Supervisors unanimously decided to terminate her employment.
The case was initially sent back to law enforcement for further investigation by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. Although no arrests have yet occurred, investigators believe there is sufficient evidence to proceed with charges. The police investigation is ongoing, and they anticipate that more victims may come to light.
