Concerns About Illegal Immigration’s Impact on Communities
Jace Yarborough, a Republican candidate for Congress in Texas’s 32nd District, expressed his concerns about illegal immigration during a recent interview on Breitbart News Daily. He stated that the influx of illegal immigrants often leads citizens to withdraw from their communities, which can cause them to “fall apart and disintegrate.”
Yarborough highlighted that areas like I-35 serve as major corridors for illegal immigration and pointed out the increasing financial strain on public programs due to this issue. He emphasized that the situation is becoming more pronounced due to the initiatives taken by the Trump administration.
“For decades,” he claimed, “Democrats have been flooding our neighborhoods with illegal immigrants, leading to significant fraud that costs millions, even billions.” He indicated that while the monetary aspect is detrimental, there’s also a social impact that is often overlooked.
He elaborated that when community members witness others taking advantage of shared resources, it creates a reluctance among residents to invest in communal spaces. “This, in turn, leads to decay in communities,” he noted.
Yarborough believes that trust among local citizens is crucial for a strong community. He remarked that illegal immigration fosters mistrust and hinders the vibrancy and beauty of local areas. “We need to foster an environment where everyone feels they are contributing positively to their community,” he said.
Identifying himself as someone who has benefited from local public services, Yarborough recalled his blue-collar upbringing, relying on public schools, law enforcement, and libraries. “These services are becoming overrun by individuals who seem to only take from the system,” he stated, pointing to a cultural disconnect he perceives with newcomers.
He further illustrated the loss of community spirit by recalling memories of a local man who took pride in maintaining a neighborhood park, noting the joy it brought to many. “That park was a gathering place, and now it feels like it’s losing its appeal,” he mentioned.
Yarborough stressed that the lack of commitment to communal resources leads to greater difficulties in everyday life. He argued that civilizations thrive when groups of people share common values and interests, which fosters unity.
“When common interests are removed, both from our citizens and immigrants, it causes disintegration,” he concluded, expressing concern over the current societal dynamics promoted by what he terms the “radical left.”
