One of the tight end Jets' options came off the board on Friday.
Tyler Conklin, who spent the past three years with the Jets, has signed a one-year contract with the charger. The team announced.
Conklin was the Jets' top tight end after coming to the team as a free agent in 2022.
He had 170 receptions and seven touchdowns in three years.
Last season, Conklin had 51 catches and four touchdowns for 449 yards.
Conklin's departure highlights the hole the Jets currently have.
They thought they would reclaim the conklin because of how thin they remained in that position.
At the moment, the team has tight ends with Jeremy Ruckert, Stone Smart, Zach Kunz and Neil Johnson.
They combine 66 career catches with one touchdown.

It speculated that the Jets could use Pennsylvania's Tyler Warren's seventh overall pick on top-rate tight ends in the draft.
Selecting Warren as No. 7 makes him the best drafted tight end since 2021 when the Atlanta Falcons placed Kyle Pitts in fourth place.
The Jets signed Conklin on a three-year, $20 million contract as a Vikings free agent in 2022.
He falls down as one of former GM Joe Douglas' better free agent signatures.
