Tyler Reddick guides Michael Jordan-owned vehicle through last-lap crash to win at Talladega

Tyler Reddick avoided a final-lap crash in Sunday’s Geico 500 as Michael Jordan’s NASCAR Cup Series car appeared in Victory Lane at Talladega Superspeedway.

Reddick maintained his position through the final 40 laps and won the race. Michael McDowell led for most of the way, battling Reddick for the top spot on almost every lap. It was the last moment for the group to enter the tri-oval.

McDowell tried to block Brad Keselowski in the last second, but the No. 6 car rammed into the back of him, causing a chain crash. Reddick made it all the way to the start-finish line and took the win.

“The third stage didn’t go very well for us,” Reddick told FOX Sports’ Jamie Little. “We were able to fight and defend that track position. Wasn’t that crazy, guys? That was chaos. That’s Talladega for you.”

“Denny [Hamlin] “He kept saying coming to the course it was bad luck, but today we proved him wrong,” Jordan said after the game. I think Tyler did a good job.Unfortunately Baba [Wallace] I couldn’t finish it. The whole team did a good job.

Multiple cars were involved in a pileup on lap 188. Corey Lajoie stood up on the wall and crossed the start and finish line for his teammates.

Keselowski, Noah Gragson, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Alex Bowman rounded out the top five. Anthony Alfredo, William Byron, Todd Gilliland, Daniel Hemric and Harrison Burton rounded out the top 10.

It was Reddick’s first win since last year’s Hollywood Casino 400 in Kansas.

The race was a no-caution situation until the end. On lap 134, Christopher Bell spun and wrecked Ryan Blaney, Chase Brisco, Justin Haley, and Zane Smith.

On lap 157, Erik Jones hit the wall hard and Bubba Wallace was also involved in the crash. Hamlin and John Hunter Nemechek also participated.
