Tyler Toney from Dude Perfect attributes the group's success to Jesus: 'This platform isn't for us.'

A member of Dude Perfect believes their achievements are thanks to God, explaining that the group shares their faith at the end of every show to communicate a message of peace and joy to their audience.

In a conversation on the Bible Caddy Podcast, Tyler Toney discussed the group’s faith, asserting that their incredible success seems inexplicable by ordinary standards, attributing it solely to God’s grace.

Dude Perfect, comprised of five friends, gained popularity through their trick-shot videos on YouTube and has since grown into a global brand with live tours, merchandise, and various media endeavors. The Bible Caddy Podcast is co-hosted by Webb Simpson, Ben Crane, and William Kane.

“It’s odd for a 38-year-old guy to still have a following on YouTube, making videos that kids enjoy,” Toney reflected, noting that their continued presence in the digital space is a result of divine favor.

All five members identify as Christians, and Toney suggested that without this shared faith, their endeavor might have failed numerous times over the past 17 years. “Our faith in Jesus is what binds us,” he added.

He emphasized that their platform isn’t for personal gain: “Without our Christian faith, Dude Perfect wouldn’t be sustained.” The group began openly sharing their beliefs during tours in 2021 after Toney felt a calling to do so, reaching out to a fellow member, Coby Cotton, with his newfound mission.

“I was driving and had this sense that I needed to share the gospel on tour,” Toney recounted. Yet, the group found it challenging to approach sharing their faith in a way that respected their audience. They deliberated on the best timing for this. “We didn’t want anyone to feel misled,” he said.

Ultimately, the solution was to conclude their shows as usual and then invite those interested to stay for a brief sharing of their beliefs. “The arena remained packed, and we simply presented the gospel, explaining our reasons for belief,” Toney noted. Leaving the stage that day, he was moved by the experience, feeling that God had significantly influenced their message.

Since then, they’ve continued this practice on every tour, witnessing positive responses and attracting attendees even in less religious areas, like the Northeast and West Coast. “It’s incredible to see how God has worked through this,” he stated.
