Tyreek Hill responds to Dolphins release with detailed Instagram message

Tyreek Hill Released by Miami Dolphins

Tyreek Hill is now searching for a new team after being released by the Miami Dolphins on Monday. The five-time All-Pro wide receiver expressed confidence that his next team will be ready to “show up and get locked in.”

After the Dolphins waived him before the 2026 season, Hill took to Instagram to share his thoughts. He noted that the team is undergoing significant roster changes.

In his post, Hill reflected on his journey, stating, “Every chapter of my life has taught me something.” He emphasized the lessons of leadership, resilience, and gratitude that football has instilled in him. Hill also mentioned his unwavering love for the game and assured fans that he is focusing on his offseason training.

Hill hinted that he has big plans, saying, “The Cheetah will be back… reborn.” He also extended his gratitude to the Dolphins organization, teammates, coaching staff, and fans for their support during his four seasons in Miami. He reminisced about feeling welcomed in Miami, noting, “These past few years have been some of the most meaningful of my life and career.”

The Dolphins are also expected to release defensive end Bradley Chubb, offensive lineman James Daniels, and wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Iquine in addition to Hill.

However, it hasn’t all been problems with injuries for Hill. He is recovering from a season-ending injury he suffered against the New York Jets, which required surgery for significant damage to his left knee.

Over his time with the Dolphins, Hill established a strong connection with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, ending his first season with the team with impressive stats—119 receptions, 1,710 yards, and seven touchdowns. In 2023, Hill led the NFL in receiving yards (1,799) and touchdowns (13), garnering his eighth straight Pro Bowl selection.

While he received a significant contract extension, worth up to $120 million, rumors circulated about his future in Miami due to a looming $51 million cap hit for 2026. With new management seeking to restructure the team, the release seemed inevitable.

Hill has also faced off-field issues, including an incident in 2024 when he was detained after a confrontation with law enforcement. He has expressed uncertainty about his future in football, recently sharing, “At the end of the day, I feel like that decision is based on how I feel right now and where my mindset is in the situation.” It’s a lot, he noted, calling it a substantial mental and physical strain.

Now, with a free agency decision ahead, Hill plans to consult with family before making any final choices on his career.
