Tyrese Haliburton may not have played much in Team USA’s gold medal run at the 2024 Paris Olympics, but the Pacers star displayed his sense of humor throughout the entire game.
Halliburton posted one of the most relatable posts on social media for anyone who’s been stuck on a group project at school and put in minimal work.
“When I got an A on a group project even though I didn’t do anything,” Halliburton wrote in an X-ed photo of himself holding his gold medal.
Haliburton played in three games for the United States at the Olympic Games, playing a total of 26 minutes and scoring eight points.
It’s unclear if this had any impact on the decision regarding his playing time, but ESPN reported Sunday that he was dealing with a minor leg injury and had undergone an MRI.
The post seemed to be widely welcomed online, but one person didn’t seem to be a fan.

This year’s Olympic appearance was Haliburton’s first, and came after the Pacers defeated the Knicks in seven games to reach the Eastern Conference finals and Haliburton was named to the All-NBA Third Team.
This year’s team was loaded with talent, including LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid and Kevin Durant.
Curry made four 3-pointers in the final seconds of the game to help the U.S. beat France and win the gold medal, while James played a major role throughout the Olympics.
Haliburton hasn’t seen much playing time this year, but he could have a bigger role when the Olympics come to Los Angeles in 2028 and the U.S. tries to win a sixth consecutive gold medal in men’s basketball.
