U.S. Hockey Star Zach Werenski Sounds Off on Canadians Booing National Anthem

US hockey star Zach Werenski scolded Canadian fans for boos when he performed the national anthem in a four-country showdown at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Saturday.

Team USA played against Canada, but as it happened all month, Canadian fans broke out with booing Starspangle banner I've started playing.

But Werenski doesn't like this trend a bit.

“We knew it was going to happen,” Werensky said. I saidaccording to Fox News. “It happened in the last game. It happened in the NHL before this and we knew it would be the same tonight. We obviously don't like it.”

The US national anthem was booed when Team USA played Finland in the Hockey Series.

“What is that,” Werensky added. “We had an idea. We used it as motivation as possible and found a way to win. But we had an idea that went into it, so that's not a surprise It was. But I definitely don't like it.”

However, US player Jake Gunzel still felt that playing in Canada was a great opportunity.

“It's incredibly incredible to play on this stage in Canada. It was pretty cool for all of us,” he said. “There's a lot of excitement just to see our team coming out for a warm-up and how packed it is. It was pretty special.”

The game was also initially left to a series of battles on the ice.

Due to all the boos, Canadian fans were disappointed as Team USA won 3-1, Canada lost and slinked.

This gave the US two wins in the series after beating Finland 6-1.
