U.S. Should Shut Down Mexican Consulates Fueling Anti-ICE Demonstrations

Peter Schweitzer Calls for Reduced Mexican Consulates in the U.S.

During a recent discussion with Breitbart Fight Club, author Peter Schweitzer asserted that consular officials are meddling in U.S. politics and suggested cutting the number of Mexican consulates by up to 90 percent.

Schweitzer’s book, The Invisible Coup: How American Elites and Foreign Powers Use Immigration as a Weapon, addresses concerns over the influence of foreign entities and was the basis for a question posed by a Fight Club founding member regarding the closure of certain consulates linked to this “invisible coup.”

“It’s easy to do. The president can direct it, the secretary of state can do it,” he noted, recalling the closure of the Chinese consulate in Houston in 2020 due to espionage concerns. “So, yes, this is a no-brainer.”

He dismissed the rationale offered by Mexico for maintaining a large consular presence, saying, “They’re claiming, ‘Oh, there are many people here. We have to provide them with services, visas, and such.’ But much of that can be done through apps. These officials are busy organizing protests, which isn’t their proper role.”

Breitbart’s D.C. bureau chief, Matthew Boyle, sought further clarity on the number of Mexican consulates compared to those of other nations. “The United Kingdom and China have six and seven consulates in the U.S.,” Schweitzer remarked. “Mexico, however, operates 53. In fact, Arizona alone has four, the same as Britain has nationwide. That’s just absurd.”

Schweitzer further emphasized, “They are indeed interfering in our politics, flaunting their connections with groups that oppose the president’s policies. Diplomats shouldn’t behave like that, and yet they are. These entities must be shut down to prevent them from impacting our elections and sowing discord.” He referenced a Mexican official, Alejandro Robles, who resides in California and reportedly boasted about organizing armed groups against Trump.

“If you’re a civilian, you can do what you wish, but as a Mexican government employee overseas, that’s unacceptable,” he stated. “These activities need to be curtailed.” He concluded that reducing the number of consulates drastically is the only way to counter such interference.

Schweitzer’s book has made an impact, debuting at the top of the New York Times Bestseller list.
