UCLA student says many campus counter-protesters were locals, not students

Students at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) told Fox News on Wednesday that Jews in Los Angeles are “fed up” and calling their own home as anti-Israel protests continue to wreak havoc on campus. He said he was trying to solve the problem manually.

“The reason this is happening is because Jews in LA are fed up with how pro-Hamas protesters treat Jewish students on campus. and said, “If the UCLA administration doesn’t do anything, that’s fine.” If the LAPD doesn’t do anything, we’re going to do something about it.” Eli Tshibs said on “Fox & Friends.” ” while appearing on the show.

Counter-protesters attempted to break up a pro-Palestinian encampment on the UCLA campus late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. A fight broke out, fireworks exploded and projectiles were thrown until finally law enforcement arrived.

After being prevented from attending class by anti-Israel protesters, Zeibs previously told Fox & Friends that the counter-protesters were local residents, not UCLA students. “Take it,” he insisted.

Tsibes said he had the opportunity to speak with some counter-protesters and learn their motives for arriving at the scene.

“They said the main reason they were doing this was to bring in the police,” he said. “They said they wanted the Los Angeles Police Department to arrive so they could eventually get into the garrison and begin making arrests.”

Tsives insists he is a champion of peace and wants nothing to do with rioters. He also told other Jewish students to stay away from the scene of the disturbance and assured them that violence was not the answer.
