The UK Foreign Secretary condemned Israeli officials for their decision to refuse entry by expelling and deporting them.
As reported by Sky News and Politics UK, a statement from the Israeli Immigration Ministry indicated that Yuan Yang and Abtisam Mohamed were barred entry due to concerns regarding a purported plan to “document security forces’ actions and propagate anti-Israel sentiment.”
Sources reveal that Yang, the MP for Berkshire’s Earley and Woodley, alongside Mohamed, representing Sheffield Central, both arrived at Ben Gurion Airport from Luton.
Foreign Secretary David Lamy expressed on Saturday: “It is unacceptable, counterproductive, and profoundly negative to deny entry to two British parliamentarians on a delegation to Israel.”
“I have communicated to my Israeli government counterparts that this approach is inappropriate for dealing with British MPs. We have reached out to both representatives tonight to extend our support.
“The UK government’s priority will be to secure a ceasefire, resume negotiations, halt violence, free hostages, and resolve the conflict in Gaza.”
