Natalia Grace, the Ukrainian orphan who was accused of trying to kill her adoptive parents 10 years ago, is now nearly 22 years old, but DNA tests show she was less than 10 years old when she was adopted. The results revealed this.
Grace's adoptive parents, Michael and Christine Barnett, claimed that when they adopted her 14 years ago, she was an adult in her 20s who pretended to be 6 years old when she committed the murder. .

“With this little piece of paper, all the lies the Barnetts told will go in the trash with the matches,” Grace tearfully tells her new adoptive father, Antwon Manns, on Monday's episode.
“This is huge, because literally, this was 13 years of just the two of them lying in silence,” she continued. “They ruined a child's life. They painted me as some big monster when in reality they were the monsters.”
“This just proves that I wasn't lying about my age,” Grace added. Grace has a rare form of dwarfism called congenital spondyloephyseal dysplasia.
“That's right,” Manns said, and Grace continued. “I just want to know why they made this story. They knew and they still did it.”
DNA tests confirmed that Grace was only nine years old when she was abandoned in Canada by her adoptive parents.
In the documentary series, Grace revealed what happened after she was adopted by the Barnett family in April 2010.
Two years later, the couple petitioned the Marion County, Ohio Probate Court to legally change the girl's birth year from 2003 to 1989, which was granted, increasing her age from 8 to 22. changed.
They then immigrated to Canada with their biological children, where their eldest son was planning to attend university.
The Burnetts have previously accused Grace of mentally and physically abusing them and of coming at them while they were sleeping with a knife in their hands, allegations she denies.
In 2013, Grace was found living alone in an apartment in Lafayette, Indiana, and the couple quickly found themselves in legal trouble, leading to an investigation and arrest.
In 2019, the couple, who have since divorced, were charged with child neglect.
Michael Barnett was ultimately acquitted by a jury in 2022, and Christine Barnett had all charges dropped in March 2023.
